Ashley Maurin completed Christian Chauveau’s professional makeup artistry school in Paris, France. The program included one-on-one training with Paris’s finest makeup artists and clocked nearly 500 hours of makeup training. The private makeup school was Paris’s first, started by Christian Chauveau in 1965. School graduates include Gucci Westman; Nathalie Gagné, Cirque du Soleil’s chief makeup artist; BlackUp’s founder, Fabrice Mahabo; chief makeup artists for fashion houses such as Givenchy
and Armani; and more.

Why Paris? A look at Paris Vogue, Numéro or Paris advertisements and you see that Paris and European makeup techniques not only require precision, but push the makeup envelope with bold colors and techniques.

In addition to studying makeup in Paris, Ashley wrote a column for KC Magazine - covering how you can get Parisian style on the street of Kansas City.
